Another long overdue trip to blog about. Last summer Brian and I decided to visit Capitola since it isn’t too far from San Jose (where I used to live). Our first stop was Gayle’s Bakery & Rosticceria. It was crazy packed as usual, but the staff there is always so efficient. The food was delicious, and it was an excellent lunch spot.

After lunch, we hit up Capitola City Beach. It was fairly difficult to find parking so we just found parking along the residential streets. It was a short walk to the beach. Capitola is tiny, and we weren’t dressed “beach” appropriate for some reason, sadly. To kill time, we sat on a bench for a while to soak up the warm weather and the beautiful scenery.

For dinner, Brian took me to Shadowbrook Restaurant. A few of my friends recommended this spot, and I really wanted to check it out. It’s in an interesting location! It’s a short trek to get to the restaurant, but rest assured they make a scenic route downhill. I think there’s another route, but I figured we’d take a walk. And then we took the tram to the restaurant.

The restaurant was a few floors which was quite unexpected! I could get lost inside! On the menu was:
Bacon Wrapped Prawn
Shrimp Bisque
New England Clam Chowder
Carmelized Sea Scallops
Blackened Lamb

The Bacon Wrapped Prawns were delicious as was the Carmelized Sea Scallops. MmMmM.
