Last month’s trip to New York City was a blast. I miss it already! We flew red eye on Virgin America, and our first stop in Brooklyn aside from taking a quick cat nap at Jason’s place was Grimaldi’s. I’ve heard the line is unbearable, but our wait was about 20 minutes. Not too shabby! We wanted to see what the hype was all about! I thought the pizza was pretty good, but not mind blowing. Either way, it was worth the trip to check it out for ourselves.
Our second stop was walking the Brooklyn Bridge. Out of all the times I’ve been to New York, I’ve never done this! And lucky for us, it was right near Grimaldi’s. Lucky for us, the clouds parted ways, and it stopped showering. Just in time for us to roam around the bridge.
Afterwards we made our way to Brooklyn Heights Promenade where we walked around in circles looking for this spot, and we finally found it after a bit of trekking! 🙂 The view was nice, and it was starting to get a little chilly up there so we made a quick exit.
And our next destination was Williamsburg where we stopped at Caffe Vita for a short coffee break. For me, I just watched Brian drink his coffee since I’m not a fan. The spot was cool; reminded me of spots in San Francisco! And I just loved the little terrariums place strategically (or not so much) in the cafe. I’ve been obsessed with terrariums as of late, and would like to make one for myself soon!
Afterwards we headed to the shopping area along Bedford St (recommended by the nice bartender lady there)! It reminded me of Haight St, but a lot cleaner.
We ended our evening at Caracas Arepa Bar (which was recommended by my coworker Meagan and a few other friends). Their la del gato, arepa de pabellon and shredded beef are popular, and of course we ordered all of those items. Oily, but delicious!
